Gifts that Keep Giving
Plus, fun and affordable ideas on how to tuck them under the tree!
Summer Overnight Camp: Sign your young adventurer up for YMCA Camp Cullen and give them something to look forward to.
Tuck it under the tree: Roll up a sleeping bag and tie a big bow around it and attach a handwritten note. Your adventurer will have a sleeping bag for backyard camping and will be ready for camp when summer arrives!
Swim Lessons: Bring summer fun to the colder months with swim lessons in an indoor pool at a Y near you. Plus, you’ll have better peace of mind when summer comes.
Tuck it under the tree: It’s easier to combine Christmas and a reminder of pool time than you may think! You just need a red pool noodle and some white tape… and voila! You’ll have a jumbo-sized, pool-themed candy cane to set by the tree.
League Registration: Register your child for a spring sport with YMCA leagues like basketball, baseball and soccer. Younger children will be especially excited to try a sport for the first time in one of our Tiny Tot programs.
Tuck it under the tree: “Kick off” their excitement with a new ball to practice with.
Other Youth Sports and Enrichment: Many YMCAs offer sports like tae kwon do, gymnastics and more. Each program is designed to encourage students to try new things and build skills like coordination, self-discipline and confidence, which apply to other types of physical activity.
Tuck it IN the tree: For a creative presentation, hang a matching ornament for your gift recipient to find. For ballet, for example, hang a tiny pair of ballet slippers. Next Christmas, you can reflect on how far they’ve come!
YMCA Membership: Give your loved one a membership to the Y, where they’ll feel welcomed and encouraged. They’ll have a variety of options to help them get a strong start on their wellness journey, including a free SMART start health assessment, free group exercise classes, new member tours and free child care while they work out.
THE BEST GIFT OF ALL (and it’s FREE!)… Spend more time with your loved ones.
Tuck it under the tree: Find the tiniest box you can find (the best gifts come in small packages, after all!) and place in it a handwritten “coupon” for a favorite activity together. It can be cooking dinner together, taking a walk around your neighborhood or even working out together.
