Your gift will help us continue to improve the quality of life for refugees and immigrants by providing direct services in resettlement, employment, education, mental health, teen programming, case management and immigration legal services.
Last month, the YMCA of Greater Houston’s Trafficked Persons Assistance Program (TPAP) collaborated with law enforcement and the Human Trafficking Reduce Alliance Task Force to work a sting operation in Fort Bend County, Texas. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 46 people and the rescue of five human trafficking victims. The YMCA was the lead agency on the scene, providing various services to the sex trafficking victims, including basic needs such as water, food, change of clothes, safety planning, transportation, & more. If you would like to donate to help these survivors, please contact Jaimie.Keller@ymcahouston.org to coordinate. We are in need of fast food & grocery gift cards, new clothes, Walmart gift cards to purchase phones to keep in communication with the survivors, and more.
