No matter your age, swimming is an activity that you can continue for a lifetime. Whether you’re looking for a cool activity to do with the family, a way to get healthy, or a place to learn to swim, the Y offers something for everyone. Swimming teaches confidence, endurance, determination, teamwork and much more. All YMCA pools are under the supervision of certified lifeguards.
Pool Schedule
There are so many ways to enjoy the swimming pools at our YMCAs. Recreational swimming, lap swimming, water walking and more! Seasonal and year-round pools are available throughout the city and accessible with your city-wide membership.
Reservations are required at some locations for lap swimming and water walking. Visit your locations schedule for details.
How to View Our Schedule or Book a Class
Step 1: Click on your local YMCA homepage below and select the category, class name (type of activity) and/or day of the week that you are interested in.
Step 2: If a reservation is required, you will see “Sign Up” to the right of the activity. To reserve a spot, log in to your YMCA of Greater Houston account using your email address and password. If this is your first time, create a log in with your membership information. From there, simply enter your information and complete the registration to have your spot reserved.
Step 3: No “Sign Up” required? Great! Join us anytime during the available time to enjoy your activity.

The YMCA of Greater Houston has an app available on the App Store and Google Play. Search YMCA Houston and have the YMCA at your fingertips! Search and book classes, take part in challenges, track your activities, add your YMCA check-in barcode and more!
In order to maintain the safety of our members, visitors and staff, indoor and outdoor pools will close for the following reasons:
• Visible lightning or audible thunder
• Severe weather conditions (heavy wind, heavy rain, fog, etc.)
• Pool water temperature drops at or below 70 degrees
• Outside temperature drops below 45 degrees (outdoor pools only)
• Power outage
• Water contamination
• Unbalanced water chemistry
• Staff training audits
• Aquatic emergencies
