Volunteers
Volunteers are hugely important to YMCA International Services and to the clients we serve. We have a number of volunteer opportunities described below. Due to COVID-19, we have established processes to keep both clients and staff safe when in-person work is necessary, but we also have numerous opportunities to volunteer over Zoom. If one of these opportunities interests you or if you have you have a specific volunteer interest, complete the first step of the volunteer registration process.
Current Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Passionate about tutoring new English learners? We need you! Our volunteer tutors provide small group and/or one-on-one English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring to adult refugees, asylees, or victims of human trafficking in order to improve their English language skills. There are opportunities to tutor in person and over Zoom.
Civics and Literacy Tutor
Interested in tutoring clients to help them improve their U.S. civics knowledge and English literacy skills? Look no further!! Tutors will meet with student groups during citizenship classes or one-on-one for naturalization interview preparation.
Refugee Youth Mentor
If you are a compassionate professional who wants to help change the lives of refugee young adults, this opportunity may be a good fit. Volunteer mentors share their personal and professional journeys over the course of three months and up to a year and can do so from the comfort and safety of their homes.
