Listening & Learning, Together. The Living Library helps us challenge prejudice by facilitating a conversation that creates a bridge and connection between people: Books and Readers. Books are volunteers who have either been subjected to discrimination themselves or speak from their own lived and/or perceived experience of stereotypes, stigma, prejudice or discrimination. Living Books have personal experiences of social exclusion that they are willing to share with Readers. Most importantly, Books give Readers permission to enter into dialogue with them, with the intention that their perspectives and experiences will challenge our own commonly held perceptions and stereotypes.
